Dr. Brandant Cruz, grew up in Houston, Texas. His life has revolved around family and community and he excelled in academics as well as participating in a variety of athletic sports. Dr. Cruz attended The University of Texas at Austin after receiving an academic scholarship from the university. He discovered the game of rugby after being invited to play for the University of Texas team where he played until he received a Bachelor of Science – Biology in 2004. Dr. Cruz taught high school science in Dallas, Texas before he was afforded an opportunity to play professional rugby for the national team of Mexico.
Playing rugby for the Mexican national team took him to international tournaments in Mexico, the United States and South America. During his second year playing professional rugby, he injured his hamstring two weeks prior to one of the biggest tournaments of the year. He was devastated thinking that he would not be able to participate in the tournament due to his injury. Fortunately one of his team mates was a chiropractor. The chiropractor asked Dr. Cruz to come see him so that he could work on the injury and on getting him back to peak condition.
Like many of the patients that come through his office doors, Dr. Cruz knew very little about true chiropractic and how powerfully life changing it could be. The doctor explained that his injury was the result of misalignments in the body causing his one hamstring to be injury prone. After one week of muscle work and adjustments, the hamstring recovered and he was back on the field and ready for the upcoming tournament.
The experience was truly life changing as he learned more about some of the bigger ideas and concepts that the chiropractic profession is built upon, it became clear to him that Chiropractic was his calling and he knew that he wanted to help others through chiropractic as he had been helped.
Dr. Cruz research of colleges lead him to enroll at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. The college is recognized globally as the founding school for chiropractic. He received a scholarship from Palmer College and once again played rugby for the college.
Dr. Cruz received his doctorate degree from Palmer College in 2010 and decided to return to Houston to begin his practice. His practice, Cruz Chiropractic, serves patients in the Houston and surrounding communities with chiropractic care and where he strives to achieve and maintain an optimum state of health and well-being for his patients.
Dr. Cruz believes that anyone that seeks his help will be able to recognize the difference in their health for the better. He believes that true optimal health can be achieved through natural methods which he teaches in his lectures and presentations. Dr. Cruz is an active member of the community participating in charity health events such as the Impact a Hero 5K and annually serves with the doctor staff for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
